I'm up today on the Silhouette UK Blog with a tutorial on how to apply vinyl to glass. I explain the hinge method for easy alignment and cover other tips for removing air bubbles and such like.
If like me, you adore Scherenschnitte the Swiss art of paper-cutting, check out the designs by Nic Squirrell (who is my favy-fav designer) and also Emily Dyer who I've recently discovered and love. I had quite a big binge buy from the Silhouette Design Store a week or so ago, so expect to see her designs popping up soon!
Happy Easter everyone! We've got loads of fab Silhouette projects over at the UK SIlhouette site including a tutorial from yours truely for an Easter egg hunt
I'll defo be trying the other Easter projects by Sara, Janet and Caroline - they are all scrummy!
Janet used the washi sheets (like washi tape but in sheets with super cute patterns) to decorate eggs. I'm such a fan of washi tape, that I became a bit obsessed and have a ever gorwing stash. My pal Di even used to call me Washi Girl when I totally pimped out all my jewellery tools with the stuff!
How adorable is Sara's wrapping paper?! Scandi origami kawaii is 100% my thing :)
Caroline's 3D easter eggs are just gorg!
I've been having a ball with Silhouette's new Faux Leather. Here's a tutorial published on the UK Silhouette Blog for some earrings.
Faux Leather Feather Earrings Tutorial
I've also been fun mystery braid braclets with this stuff (tutorial to follow) and plan to make fun accessories for our niece Elle's birthday rocking horse.
Be sure to check out the other tutorials using faux-leather on the UK blog site. In particular I completely adore Caroline's mini album
Silhouette have a new free design out today, the daisy brush script.
To celebrate International Woman's day, I decided to create a design with a quote from Coco Chanel. A girl should be two things: who and want she wants.
This is a pattern filled screen shot from the Silhouette Studio software, but I'm going to cut in vinyl and apply in a shadow picture frame. I'll do a tutorial on this project and the photograph the final piece :)
If you like the script, download your copy whilst it's a freebie :) I'd love to see your projects that you make with this script, so why not enter our design challenge which has a prize this week?!
My very first Silhouette UK blog post has just been published, yippee!

All of our bios are up now, so check out all the lovely work from my other Design Team members, they really are an awesome bunch and their makes are so inspiring!
Silhouette America has a wonderful blog posting tutorials and showcasing their new products. Following in its footsteps, thre is now a UK specific blog too :)
When I heard that there was a call to apply for the Silhouette UK 2016/2017 Design Team, I thought it sounded amazing. I decided to apply, but without any expectations, as the crafters here in the UK are making some absolutely stunning work with their Silhouette machines. Well, guess what? I received a call on Wednesday and lovely Lisa Bird (Silhouette's new UK Marketting Executive) told me that I was in!!! It's fair to say that I was stoked.
Every month, our team of eight will receive a fabulous box of goodies and then we will write blog posts with tutorials and projects. On Friday our first parcel arrived, check out the loot:
I honestly can't wait to experiment with all the different products and share tutorials about my favourite ones.
Free Weekly Shape and Design Challenge
Every week, Silhouette give a away a free shape, so the UK Blog have started a weekly design challenge using that free shape. I'd really love to see your entries - here's my take on this week's shape. I decided to make a frame with repetitions of the free shape and added a quote for Mother's Day using the Yellow Daisy font.
